Procedural deadlines
Procedural deadlines counted from service, confirmed by the lawyer
Record the court document and its date of service. ClerkMind proposes the deadline and the rule behind it, and you check it, confirm it and assign it to a lawyer and a backup.
The judgment stays yours; ClerkMind does the counting
A deadline is the lawyer's decision. ClerkMind takes over the routine around it: counting from service, non-working days, the task and the reminder.
The usual wayThe deadline is counted by hand from the date of service, with a calendar at your elbow.
With ClerkMindClerkMind proposes the last day from the date of service and, if it falls on a weekend or public holiday, proposes the next working day.
The usual wayThe judgment is in a drawer and the appeal deadline in the diary.
With ClerkMindThe document is stored, locked, in the matter's „Court documents“ folder, and the deadline is a task on that same matter.
The usual wayEveryone knows who owns the deadline, but not who covers for them.
With ClerkMindEvery deadline has a responsible lawyer and a backup, and reminders reach both.
The usual wayReviewing the week's deadlines means leafing through files.
With ClerkMindThe „Due in the next 7 days“ filter and the „Deadlines and limitation“ report show the deadlines across all your matters.
Deadlines in ClerkMind
From the document you received to a confirmed reminder, in one flow.
„Court document received“
Drop in the PDF, for example one downloaded from e-delivery, choose the type (judgment, decision, lawsuit, payment order, indictment) and the date of service. ClerkMind keeps the document locked, records the service in the matter's history and proposes the deadline. For a summons it schedules the hearing instead.
A proposal with its basis; the decision is yours
The proposal shows the kind of deadline and the rule it was derived from, with the note „Proposal: check the deadline“. You can change the date and name before confirming, or switch the deadline off if you do not need one.
A deadline is a task with owners
A confirmed deadline is a task of type Appeal, Response, Evidence or Other, with a responsible lawyer, a backup and a priority. A badge such as „Deadline · Appeal · in 3 days“ sits next to the matter.
Reminders you confirm
Reminders arrive seven, three and one day before the deadline and on the morning itself, in the app and by email. „Confirm“ tells the team the deadline is in hand. If a reminder stays unconfirmed for four hours, the backup is notified.
Every deadline at a glance
The Tasks list filters deadlines by „Due in the next 7 days“, „Assigned to me“ or „Deadlines only“, as a table or a kanban board. The „Deadlines and limitation“ report collects them into a PDF.
From service to reminder in three steps
Record the document
From Quick actions, open „Court document received“, drop in the PDF and enter the type and the date of service.
Check and confirm
Read the proposal and its basis, change the date if needed and assign the deadline to a lawyer and a backup.
Work from the reminders
The deadline is in Tasks and in the calendar, and reminders reach the responsible lawyer and the backup, with confirmation.
Counted on the Macedonian calendar
- Non-working days follow the Macedonian calendar: public holidays, plus the Monday after a holiday that falls on a Sunday.
- Community holidays are shown in the calendar, labelled by community.
- The proposal depends on the matter's procedure, civil or criminal, and always shows the rule it used.
- Document types are the ones Macedonian courts send: judgment, decision, lawsuit, payment order, indictment, summons, record.
Questions about procedural deadlines
Does ClerkMind set the deadline for me?
No. ClerkMind proposes a date based on the type of document, the procedure and the date of service, and shows the rule it started from. The deadline is saved only when a lawyer confirms it, and the date can be changed first.
What if the last day falls on a weekend or holiday?
ClerkMind proposes the next working day, skipping Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and shows which date it moved from.
Can I record a document downloaded from e-delivery?
Yes. Drop the PDF into „Court document received“ and it is stored in the matter's „Court documents“ folder. ClerkMind is not connected to the e-delivery system; you add the document yourself.
Who gets the reminder for a deadline?
The responsible lawyer, in the app and by email if they have switched that on. If they do not confirm it within four hours, the backup is reminded as well.
Can a confirmed deadline be changed?
Yes. The deadline is a task on the matter, and anyone who can edit the matter can change its date, type or responsible lawyer.
Where do I see all of the firm's deadlines?
In Tasks, using the deadline filters, and in the calendar. The administrator sees deadlines across every matter; a lawyer sees those on matters shared with them.
